Christopher Carter is a master’s student at the School of Community and Regional Planning at UBC in Vancouver Canada. Christopher is interested in land and water use planning amidst natural resource development, multi-stakeholder governance and coastal and remote community planning amidst global change. He completed an interdisciplinary bachelor of science in geography, social anthropology and film at Montana State University – Bozeman where he was active among the indigenous communities and the agricultural extension service. He has worked internationally on regional and rural development projects and policy research in Greenland, Mongolia, and Morocco for local governments, NGOs, non-profits and the National Science Foundation. He recently completed local climate change action planning policy research and analyses on water security and vulnerability in the aquacultural municipality of Hagonoy Philippines. His current research focuses on socio-economic vulnerability in coastal communities and social participation in mining environmental assessment in British Columbia. |
